Guatemalan Jadeite, a rare and finely grained 'Fei Cui' jade that rivals Burmese jade in color and translucency. "Jade" is a term that referred to two different mineral classifications; jadeite and nephrite. Nephrite being the more common type found around the globe, jadeite is quite rare, much more fine grained and takes a high lustrous polish. The Guatemalan jadeite deposits were lost in history for approximately 500 years and were only discovered once again about 50 years ago. Guatemalan jadite is becoming increasingly popular especially with the uncommon teal blue jade it produces.

This verison is the Water Jade - light in color, it has a slightly deeper tone than the ice blue in the 5mm.

These bead strands are 7 in long and there are 32 beads. They are currently strung to be worn as a bracelet that is adjustable from 7 in to 8 and 1/2 in.
